The Best Christmas Ads From Around The World
Christmas is the time for giving and receiving, and more popular than that, it’s a time for sharing… and I’m not on about sharing presents.
When John Lewis released #MontyThePenguin, it captured the hearts of the public and parents everywhere had to explain to their children that penguins do not make good Christmas presents. Then along came Sainsburys and now, it’s all back to normal. Penguins are chocolate biscuits again. Take a look at these masterpieces from this year so far, some gems from the past and some you may have never seen before.
Sainsburys 2014 – #ChristmasIsForSharing
The dark horse in the Christmas Ad game. Sainsbury have arguably won the war with this masterpiece.
John Lewis 2014 – #MontyThePenguin
One of the first play their Christmas ad card this year and it doesn’t disappoint. Over the years, John Lewis have created a reputation for themselves with their Christmas adverts, all which are timeless, feature an incredible soundtrack and magical stories which are well worth checking out. This year, it’s Tom Odell who provides the soundtrack.
Tesco 2014 – The Wigan Light Show
@Claire_Journo has been silenced in style!
Boots 2014 – #SpecialBecause
Boots have reminded everyone what Christmas is all about in this beautiful ad. No talking animals, silly songs or CGI needed.
Eden Cheese – 2014
Believe it or not, this is an advert for cheese in the Phillipines. It’s simply beautiful, and similar to the Boots Advert. For Filipinos, Christmas is about family. Very often, the efforts of one amazing woman – mom – are what help make this season truly special.
John Lewis 2013 – The Bear & The Hare
Still a classic. The story is set to a cover of Keane’s ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ performed by Lily Allen which is simply stunning.
A must watch. Very heart-warming. Thanks to a team of merry WestJetters and the power of technology, we’ve learned that miracles really do happen.
M&S 2013 – Magic and Sparkle
Stunning, magical advert with big names from M&S including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Have I mentioned Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is in it?
Adidas 2012 – A Chrizzle Carol
This is simply bad ass. Adidas recreate Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, featuring Snoop Dogg, David Beckham and more!
Warehouse 2012 – 12 Days Of Christmas ‘Morning After’
I think this applies to everyone. Brilliant.
NBA 2012 – 2013 – Basketball Tunes
Simple, memorable and effective!
Canadian Tire 2012
Very sweet. A little boy moves house, but does Santa know his new address?
Barclays – Real Life Toy Story
A real life Toy Story, starring James Corden!
Harvey Nichols 2011 – The Walk Of Shame
Harvey Nichols have some great Christmas ads, but this one is my favourite.
Brooks Brothers 2011 – Sheep Singing Jingle Bells
Sheep singing Jingle Bells. What more do you want?
Hersheys Kisses – Chocolate Tune
As well as Coca Cola, this is when the US know it’s Christmas time.
M&M’s 1996 – Faint
M&M’s are real!
Toys R Us – 90s Version
Without a doubt the BEST Toys R Us advert. Classic! It’s called Toys R Us, Toys R Us Toys R Us!
Irn Bru – Snowman Advert
Absolute genius. It makes me want a can of Irn Bru.
Coca Cola – Holidays Are Coming
My favourite Coca Cola ad. Tune too!
Cake – This Is For People Who Hate Christmas
Cake are a production company who make funny adverts. I wouldn’t watch this if love animals, particularly reindeers. Although I’m sure none were harmed in the making.
